Hooligans Today
Hooliganism has recently had significant media coverage. Although in the United States one can overlook the topic of hooliganism because it is not prevalent in American sporting events, hooliganism still exists with great influence all across the globe. Arguably, the epicenter of hooliganism is London, England. A city where on nearly every street one can find a pub showing the latest rivalry match, fanatic support and violent outbreaks are natural in London. The most striking examples of hooliganism come from the smaller clubs around London. Even though the club itself is generally not successful, the firms of these clubs, most notably West Ham United, create spectacular displays of loyalty and commitment.
